The only cheat I know of is invincibility: http://pcenginebible.roarvgm.com/HTML_Games/Fantasy_Zone.htm (click the red button)

You shouldn't need to continue once you learn the boss patterns and if you make smart use of your ability to purchase extra lives in the shop. You might have to take a little bloody nose until then, but the game really isn't all that hard.

Another awesome SEGA arcade classic.

you are the man,  nat. I appreciate all of your posts.

I haven't had the chance to purchase lives yet at the shop - weird.

Great game, yeah.

You know I haven't played all of the systems you guys have -  NES, SNES, Gameboy, Genesis & TG-16. That's it.

Oh I've played Playstation too (not a fan).

ps,  _paul,  thanks for the link.  Nice page. Not interested in invincibility per se,  but glad to know it exists.

little aside:  you know, the main problem I have with these PC Engine pages is that I only really care about HuCard TG16 games.  These pages all have massive lists of all the PC Engine games ,  CDs,  et al..  I haven't seen one that actually gives the info: re availability for TG-16/HuCard or what.   Kind of a chore to have to Google every game that looks interesting to see if I can play it.

Scroll the shop screen to the right and you'll see where you can purchase extra lives.

What Joe said.  There is another whole screen's worth of items you can buy if you scroll to the right in the shop. Buy weapons only when needed (later levels) and save your $$ for buying extra lives.

A friend found this on the internet after I introduced him to this series:

The same friend also redrew it to my specifications... ^_^ The name is both an obvious play on words and a clever in-joke...

Ahh, Kitsune.  You never fail to amaze me with your slightly pervy pics.  Don't ever stop.
