I have some bad news.

Nuclear weapons silos are clustered close together for protection against first strikes.  Counter-intuitive, I know, but supposedly after the first detonation the air would be so thick with dust that the second strike missiles wouldn't be able to accurately target the surviving silos.  So this silo better not have any active ones left near it or you are just as screwed as ever. 

If you really want to survive World War III head to the southern hemisphere.  New Zealand is the best candidate, but Australia and Brazil are good choices too.  Of course, the best way to survive global thermonuclear war is not to play thermonuclear war.  Well, that or a special moon laser battle station.

Well not survive it but use it for a base of operation
