good TG-16 shops anywhere?(BESIDES EBAY)
« on: January 28, 2008, 01:24:48 PM »
Hello there. I'm new :)after a long wait, I've FINALLY gotten a Turbografx-16!
now for the next step-where to fine the games and accessories? before i picked up the system, i was lucky to find 4 complete games at some movie store for six dollars each(Bonk's Adventure, Keith Courage, Devil's Crush, and Splatterhouse) i usually browse Ebay, and while i find a few things, im usually turned of by high prices (sometimes overpriced-billmarioman), and difficulty finding the desired game/item. does anyone know of any online (not ebay)stores that carry any turbografx games (complete if possible) and accessories?

heres a small list of what im looking for-

Turbografx CD add-on w/ system card
Ys book I&II
dragon's curse
legendary axe
r-type
air zonk(i know it's pretty expensive and rare, but as long as i can find it complete, im satisfied)

thanks

You've been spending too much time on eBay.

Don't let anyone trick you into thinking Air Zonk is rare.

All late-issue TG16 games are considered "rare" by ebayers...and they all go for a very high price.

Yes, generally speaking eBay should never be used as a value guide for American Turbo stuff. You can occasionally find good deals but that's the exception rather than the rule.

I feel like I've said this 1,739 times before.

sorry :)-i meant online shops. im looking for us turbo games at the moment. I'll probably have a similar post in the PC Engine fourms for import games.
When i think about it, most of the items i search for really aren't worth TOO much(at least i think), I feel that the Ebay sellers take advantage of how this stuff is so obscure and tough to find,

On this subject, I just posted a new topic in the FS forum regarding some cheap brand new TG-16 stuff on eBay. Go check it out. The selection isn't huge, but most of it's stuff that TZD has been out of for years.

Why does everyone use ebay as a price/rarity standard these days? I went to a local game shop and they were useing ebay as a price list checking what a certain game sold for and basing their prices on that. I hate it when people pull that crap. Be a mind in your own and make a price on your own. Like doing this crap is going to help out? Ebay sucks, period.
END OF LINE.

I agree. Using eBay as a value guide for this stuff is a seriously flawed method if for no other reason than jackass store sellers that put their shit up at ridiculously inflated prices. People looking to judge value see that, and all of a sudden, everybody thinks that's what the game is worth. Monkey see, monkey do. It's an epidemic.
