Dust/dirt sensitivity

Is it normal for a PC-FX system to be very sensitive to dust and dirt? It seems I have to take a can of air and regularly blow out my PC-FX as there will be frequent skips, especially in FMV.

This is the only system that has that problem though, I have the system next to 3 other system in an enclosed cabinet to prevent dust, only the PC-FX has problems regularly.

I'm a bit worried the system may be wearing out, but a couple zaps of the air can seems to take care of it. I've also recently just bought this system in the last couple of months so I'm not sure how the previous user took care of it. I asked him and he had no clue what was going on. The system did look good though, no signs of abuse.

Any help is appreciated.

Which game's FMV tend to skips? I had/have troubles with Zeroigar and some others. Zeroigar was so annoying, that I've bought a second copy just to see the whole cinemas.

I also bought my FX two years ago used. But till now I got every game to work :-)

I had the same problem, I used one of those laser lense cleaners and it made every game stop skipping.  I heard the laser lense cleaners can throw off your laser but for the consoles I've used it on it did the trick.

Zeroigar was probably the worst, but Yuna FX also comes to mind. There might have been some others, I don't recall right now. I did try a lense cleaner without any luck. A few shots of compressed air did the trick and stopped all skipping, it's just I'll probably have to do it again in a week or 2. It doesn't seem so bad if I play the system regularly, it's after it sat for several days that it seems I'm spraying it again.

Zenki skips sometimes for me.  I just restart the console and somehow that magically solves the problem.  Funny.  I think it's a finicky little system.  Oh how I do love it though.  All my friends are so amazed that it ever existed.  The little quirks just make it addorable.

I named mine "Candice" and we've been together for three years now...  Um.  I'm lying.
