I don't know anyone who can afford to invest that much in a retro-games hobby. If I had that kind of money I'd be paying back student loans or finally taking a honeymoon.

it's less a question of the amount, but more of the time span in which it have to be payed. to bang an easy cash of $15'000+ on the table at once is different to paying the same money over 15 years.

Agreed. And, IMHO, it's much for fun to amass a collection over time and watch it grow, than to just plunk down money on an insta-collection. Even if I was millionaire, I would collect over time. It's just more fun that way.  That being said, I can't say I'm not somewhat envious of that collection of games.  =P~ hehe

Why go thru all the effort just to puss out at the end.  So much for one of his answers to a question onthere. "Let auction take it's course, won't end early." Blah blah blah

Just as I'd figured; the douche just wanted some attention and wanted to know what his collection was worth.  What a f*cking ass clown.

The bidding was at $12,000 with private bids. There might have been 0 feedback bidders bidding up the stuff and he had to relist it.

If that were the case, then he could've just canceled bids from those with insufficient or negative feedback (he's been closely following the bidding as evidenced by the asked and answered questions).  Any way you look at it, there wasn't an "error in the minimum bid or reserve amount" and I seriously doubt that this auction will reappear..... unless it's about a year from now.

Yeah, I meant at once, not over, like, many many years.

Geez, this dude's obviously some kinda nutcase. And with that many sealed games he obviously isn't playing much.
