Wow, thanks for the information. Riot City wasn't a very impressive arcade title to begin with. The artwork in Capcom titles was always really good. It's a shame that the potential of the SGX was never realized. Reading all those old EGMs and seeing the Die Hard Gamefan ads had me a little obsessed with the SGX for a while, so I ended up buying one only to have next to nothing released for it. Dai Makamura and 1941 were pretty impressive. Aldynes was decent, nice use of parallax but not much better than a standard PCE title. Madou Granzort isn't anything to write home about, and Battle Ace was a joke.

Interesting read, Tom.

Just to show the horizontal sprite handling of the pce, i chose Mad Stalker, a single plane brawler.
