PC Engine CD AC adapter
« on: July 19, 2005, 12:08:14 AM »
I bought a PCE+CDROM2 off Ebay but the guy recently told me that it doesn't come with an AC adapter (even though the auction said it). However there might be a good chance he can send me a spare one, but if he can't, I get to choose a free game. There are some questions I have that need answers, so please respond.

1.) In another thread, Steve mentioned that TG-CD AC adapters are very hard to find. Are PCE-CD adapters hard to find as well?

2. ) Is there any kind of generic or universal AC adapter I could use for it instead without burning the system out or anything?

3. ) Is it even possible to use an US Turbo system adapters for it?

I looked up this file on the Turbo list that explains AC specs, but it doesn't mention any PCE system specs. Please everyone, I need your help!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Do you have a white PCE with the CD-ROM2 and interface unit? I have the same setup and I'm using no original ac-adapter, I use a generic one found anywhere.
My PCE is now 12 years old, got it back in 93, and is powered on the whole time since fear of losing the internal backup ram.

So, I would say as long as you the output isn't higher than stated in the unit itself, you won't break anything.

Thanks for the reply! Yes I am going to have a white PCE with CD-ROM2 interface unit. I am very glad to hear that your power supply hasn't blown up your system or loose memory or anything like that. If you could, could you tell me what company and product AC adapter you have so I could try looking for it or something similar online? I'd really appreciate it!
