PC Engine DUO-R sound issues

Heh, old habit... That's how we call the first PC Engine here -- remember that with the release of the CoreGrafx in Japan, "PC Engine" simply became the name of the whole product family, and talking about "my PC Engine" got somehow confusing depending on what you really meant by "PC Engine"

Noise filters, what kind of noise filter will remove RF interference? Will any of these remove them? These are mainly for ground loops though.

The PC Engine is a noisy console. Some games, especially those displaying high brightness values (read: white screens) will produce the kind of buzz you're hearing. The buzz is more or less audible depending on the quality of your TV set and speakers, but it definitely comes from the console and this shouldn't be a cause of worry. My white CoreGrafx produced more buzz than this!

AC line noise and RF interference are two seperate issues, no line filter is going to cut RF interference, sorry.

I remember i use to get a buzz noise on my Coregrafix.

It was a ac adapter from a, NES then i switch to a, SMS one and the noise stop.

Befor you ask wtf why you use a, Nintendo one pretty much. The... HK seller i got it from on Ebay sold it that way.

Interesting what you are saying.

I tried the PSP!!!! AC adapter that is rated 5v at 2A.. The DUO did boot up but the sound volume was way way down. I set the TV volume to max and could hear the sound but it was still weak, didnt hear any weird buzz sounds though.

Can somebody explain this to me? Why is the original AC Adaptor rated 9V at 1A giving me problems but a weaker AC Adapter is not or atleast I don't think? Is the sweet spot an AC Adaptor rated 5v < x < 9v ?? And why is that? Is it the capasitor in the DUO failing?
