total PCE/TG16 game number is about 436,so 512 is enough.

This guy needs a nomination for the best new PCEFX.com member of the year.
I totally agree.  First, it was the turbo express I mean pc engine gt screen mod and now this. He's a genius!
Turbo fan since 1991 after owning my first system.

also, thats not enough derp switches for every PCE game.  9 dip switches? 512 combos.......... ITS NOT ENOUGH.

Theres more than 512 games!

*facepalm*

HuCards only, duh!  :P

Oh. I forgot.  I get in zen-mode when I Obey, and treat all media as equal when it enters the Duo Sanctuary.

but seriously now I am thinkin...

What if there were a device to emulate the CD hardware.  Maybe a USB interface that allows you to host the disc games via PC and send to the PCE!

Kind of like how the NoWind on MSX lets you send disk images over USB to a cart, and then it functions as if it were a plain ol' Floppy.

Man, that would rule.

Thats a pretty good idea.  I wish I knew anything about programming and circuit building, I'd love to do a project like that.  Any idea if there is enough bandwidth in the HuCard port for the CD data?
Another douche trying to obtain a full Turbo collection.  119/146 so far.  Got a long way to go. Half way there. Hit the 100 mark. ich bein ein obeyer

Personally, I want one of the electronic gurus here to design an ide interface for the connector on the back of the turbo. Then, I could image all my cd's onto a hard-drive, or use an ide-cd. Although, if they could make it work on a card, that would be cool, too...

a flashcart that supports tossing bin/cues, or interface to use a PC harddrive would be cooler.  Less room for failure of hardware.

That would be cool.  Then even if your CD drive failed, ya still could use the images.

I missed this earlier, but this is super cool. it strikes me that the kind of person that could put this together might also be able to remember 436 dipswitch combos. heh

Hmm,
Maybe we COULD interface into the back of the TG16 to use a PC as the CD source.  Wait, better yet, lets keep all the CD files right ON the PC...wait, even better, we could also use the PC monitor instead of a TV...wait, even better still, let's add the capability to use the joystick that's on the PC instead of the JoyPad on the TG.......damn, all this and all we would need is an EMULATOR to actually PLAY the games on the PC and ignore the TG system completely!

Hey, wait a minute!  About needing an EMULATOR...

-------------
So, at what point do we decide to abandon the TG entirely?

This is a cool concept. I'm REALLY hoping that this becomes a real item. I would love to have something like this in my collection. Especially since I'm just starting out and have just a few HuCards.....

The dipswitches aren't a big deal as you could easily print out a small booklet with a list of game names and their dipswitch configuration. I do like the idea of a multicart that doesn't suck and actually contains all the games for a system. Unlike typical pirate multicarts that only have a few games along with a bizillion shitty hacks all while claiming to have like 400 games.

It would be nicer to have a menu and a register implemented to let the PCEngine bankswitch the selected game on the menu into place. But if you don't have PCE programming experience then switches are alot easier and I don't think users would mind that much if they had a list.

If you don't intend to produce this commercially yourself you could still try to get in touch with someone that could. Tototek ( www.tototek.com ) produces a PCE Pro 32M flash cartridge so perhaps you could talk to them about producing this.

Which makes me wonder, how big are the flash chips on your PCB? I assume there are 2 of them plus that CLPD?
