It's been said there's an artificial "two player" mode where player 2 can control Nameless' satellite option.

Back in the day I choose to buy MD Tatsujin instead of PCE mainly because it was cheaper.  Now I wonder which one would stand the test of time.  All I know is I've been playing PCE Tatsujin on my PSP constantly.  I'll have to find a copy of MD Tatsujin again.

I think both versions are still cool.

I also still love the MD Forgotten Worlds, because its still a cool game and takes me back to the early days of the Genesis.

Yes I did venture outside of Turbografx back in the day, I'm not console war fanboy, but I do enjoy playing multiple ports or games, good or bad.

??? Blasta_masta, umm, I mean scuzzo84, I take it you've never experimented with different ways of hooking up your video electronics to a monitor / tv. The differences between video output with RF vs. composite vs. S-video vs. ______ on a decent television screen are significant.

This is NOT a console-specific attribute: any console sending video out through RF will suck compared to composite, and so on.

By your logic, ALL consoles/dvd players/vcrs/cable boxes SUCK in terms of video signal output, simply because all of them can be attached to a monitor / tv in a variety of ways -- not all of which offer pristine picture quality.

I think scuzzo is falling prey to the problem with upgrading old systems to RGB or S-Video where at first they look worse because of how in your face the graphics are now, every single pixel is there in it's own glory.  The first time I saw 2D in RGB I thought the same thing, "wow that looks blocky as hell", but after you realize how bright and vibrant the colors are and how defined everything is, it looks awesome.

Yeah, but the Duo systems' composite is messed up. Its brighter and more washed out than other console's 'video' out. So the S-Video mod is even more dramatic.

I think that a TG with an RF switch is probably more colorful than a Duo using video out. Maybe all output with PCE/TG systems isn't that great.

But I always had suspicions about this back in the day and once Magic Engine took off I noticed how emulated Turbo screenshots were so much more vibrant compared to the hardware's output than other consoles' hardware VS emulation.

I don't like my graphics blurred. With emulators I always turn filters off.

Its the same with real systems, I prefer to see real graphics as accurately as possible.

Maybe kids growing up on 3D can't handle pixelization(except on a handheld), but thats fine by me.

I just tried out the PCE, Genesis & Arcade versions by emulator and both versions hold up very well.

The PCE version is closer to the arcade with more animation(s), more color & detail, more faithful gameplay/patterns(its harder) and better music & (in my opinion) sfx.

This is one of those games I always forget is on PCE, but now I have to pick it up. Not only is it fun(even if it's only a "pea-shooter"), but its perfect for the GT/Express.

I remember both versions being pretty similar, but it probably all comes down to the usual case: more vibrant and colorful graphics for PCE version and debatable sound.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Thats what I figured, but the sound's(certainly the music) actually well above average and closer in 'type' to the arcade.

But the Genesis versions is below average by Genny standards.

Tatsujin

Is this for real?

Is Tatsujin really that 'rare' and what does it usually sell for?

That seller usually overprices items a bit, but I am not aware if Tatsujin/Truxton is commonly expensive and/or rare.

I'm pretty fond of the Super 2x Sai filter on emulators myself whenever I play them, but I barely ever use emulators anymore since I prefer the real thing.  The only time I bother with emulators is to check out games I've never played and would never want to own (like all those shitty famicom games out there).  Anything I actually want to play I just buy.
