Final Zone II is one tough motha

Has anyone ever beat this game? OMG! You catch yourself slowing down to maintain enemy crowd control, or is that just the Japanese version?

About the music in the game, some of it doesn't fit too well with the action. But I still find it a tad bit interesting for an old game that you blow shit up to some vocal J-Pop (Momoko's theme).

BTW Velder and Hansen's Theme music kicks ass. They're so catchy but I still like them

I could walk though that game in like 45 minutes from what I remember.

Dude, I love the music to this game as well. How kool is it to play a PINK-SUITED Momoko with that vocal track? For me, it adds a lot to an otherwise average game.

To beat this game, all you have to do is take your time. If you try to rush through it, you're bound to get a little sloppy and lose some precious life. There might be a level of two you can just blitz through (electricity? radioactivity?), but it's been ages since I've played this game.

Ninja, you've gotta get the U.S. version of FZII just to hear the two vocal tracks -- the music tracks are actually mixed slightly differently than the Japanese version!!! I can't believe they took the time to do this, but I'm glad they did :D. The vocals are song similarly, they're executed slightly different as well (especially the the opening theme, the Japanese singer has a more "tough n' gruff" style).

Bowie's Chance

Song for Bowie

This was an unfinished project that I will be completely re-working and finsihing one of these days. I made up the names for the songs -- suggestions are welcome. Anyway, these lyrics are friggin' golden, and the synth-pop sound is a little tame, but kicks the butt of the bland j-pop often heard in video games and anime. Personally, I consider these two songs the PINNACLE of VG synth-pop w/ vocals (in the U.S. there are no contenders).

If we were discussing all genres of music w/ vocals, FZII tracks would still rank in the top 10...  while I love Sonic CD's theme song, it's just too damn sacharin for my tastes. The theme song in It Came From the Desert (TG-CD) whoops Sonic's butt and is TOP FIVE material, IMO.

OK, I almost wet myself. Sorry for the hardcore nerd-lust.

Man, you can't get any cornier than that song! Goofy X 1,000. Actually, I think there's a male and female vocal, so Dekoboko wins the title for goofiest male and female lead vocal :).

What about some of Working Designs' songs for goofy?  I love WD, but I remember cringing and making sure no one else was home when I first heard "Dreams are real unless you dream they're not!".

The title screen and the character select screen have some rad music as well! The game isn't too hard if you just take it slow and not run forward so much, which may turn some people off unless they can handle all of the enemies at once. The game can get hard though, like the shooter level.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

hahahahahahaha. this is Cosmic Fantasy II, right? OK, yes, that is a pretty weak song, but it isn't nearly as goofy as Dekoboko. Granted, it would be painful to listen to either song six times in a row...

Me and my mate laughed our asses off the first time we heard Dekoboko. It was so bad it was good and I love it to bits now, it still makes me smile.

Actually that line is from the opening of the Playstation verison of Lunar. I like that opening, but I might like the Sega CD one better as far as music goes. Both verisons are both really cool though.

Edit: Anyone who likes the Lunar series should stop by this place; if for nothing but the pictures.

^^ Yeah that was it, I thought it was Lunar 2 but you're right.  Man that is one akward phrase, I bet that singer chick felt stupid singing it.

Hahaha, I had the same feeling and yeah that song was ultimately gay. The Sega CD opening song was pretty rad though.
