Malfunctioning TurboGrafx CD attachment
« on: September 23, 2005, 09:44:48 PM »
Hello-

I've recently acquired the TurboGrafx CD player.
Standalone, it powers up fine using the TG-16
power supply. When I put a CD into it, and press
'play,' the CD will spin for a split second, then it
stops. Then after a moment, the system powers
off on its own. Anyone know what the problem
is here? Are there any tutorials on the internet
about fixing these CD units? Thanks for the help!

Best Regards,

Its probably dead, but you can always test the discman drive itself with a TG16 ac and a music cd to see if it willplay byitself,if it wil,its your docking station at fault.

Yeah, I had the same problem.  YOu think its not working but it might be.  Make sure you have a system card and then the whole system is set up correctly.  When you power up the system press the run button when the screen prompts you and at that point the cd will start to read the cd.  The cd drive doesn't light up when you initially turn on the system only when the system card prompts you to press the run button.
