Can anyone fix my Duo?
« on: March 17, 2012, 04:20:21 AM »
I have a non-working PC Engine Duo (does not power up). Can anyone fix it? I know that the Hucard and CD-rom parts were working the last time I used it.

If it's not the power cord or jack, it's probably a blown fuse.

It's not the power cord. I just got a brand new power supply from retrogamecave and it still doesn't power on.

Where can I get the correct replacement fuse?

Im not a repair tech here, but...  Ive never heard of the Duo having a fuse.  However, I could just not know something... :?:  Contact one of the tech guys here via PM.  thesteve, BlueBMW, KeithCourage, or chop.

Yeah, it can be replace. You can probable get a replacement from radio shack.  You can check with a multi meter by seeing if you have a continuity across.  If you don't, then the fuse is blown.  Here is a pic of mine.  My US duo says FS101, I can't see what the rate values are. I will desolder it and let know.

It says SOC 3A.  I don't think the SOC means anything.  So what you probably want is a 3A fast acting size 5x20mm fuses.  It's the same size fuses as the PCE and TG16 except those are less amprage.
