My friend Eric has a couple of complete sets and a GD Rom drive last I remember. Its a bit of a pain to get one going piece meal. You should probably check Klov/Vaps and the SHMUPS! forum. I'm going to warn you, if you plan to use it super gun style its going to be a ugly mess of wires and bullshit all over the place. Even more so if you plan to use the GD-Rom stuff. You may want to locate a large square flat piece of wood to mount and wire tie the stuff too, and set it in a ventilated box of some kind. To give you a idea of what all you will have to deal with:

nice and tidy

I'm really only going to supergun it until i can find a nice cab to slap it in, but i'm not going to bother unless I can get one going, y'know?
I'm talking to someone now, but what's mostly confusing me is the difference with the bios.

I assume you've been hitting Sega-Naomi.com for some intel?

There is some region lock out that also creates some headaches. I've got a EU and US Naomi, I think both are "D" bios so I cannot do the network hack to load games off external drives. But to tell the truth, one of them is pretty much dedicated to CvS2(best fighter evah) and the other is Ikaruga (or VT2 when I rotate the monitor back). Never got the bug to collect Naomi as I did with Neo.

I/O's can be ticky to track down, the Capcom one was going for $200 last I checked. I'd suggest getting the Sega JAMMA I/O:

Should be on the cheap, plus is keeps your shit JAMMA if you ever run in a cab(or Supergun).

Why not just buy a Dreamcast and call it good?

for the same reason that people have Neo geo cabs instead of MAME cabs.

I have a DC in a Naomi Universal...along with a Naomi GD-ROM! Keep the cabinet "real" but get the bene's that the plethora of games the 'Cast has to offer.

That, sir, is apples to oranges. A DC is on no level equivalent to an emulator.

A better comparison would be a Neo Geo cab to an AES.
