Double disc case games packaging
« on: April 15, 2012, 08:39:44 AM »
Did double disc case games come shrink wrapped or in cellophane with a peel-away strip? It's been 20 years since I opened all of my new double disc case games, but my memory favors cellophane for SFII'.

I recently bought a new/sealed copy of Kabukiden and it came in a thick shrink wrap.

I have just opened new copies of Record Lodoss of War 2 and Atlas.

Both came in cellophane without the tear strip.

So the corners had folded wrapping?

Neither had folded corners like you see on a new HuCard/Single SCD game.

The film/cellophane packaging on both of these games was tight all over and looked like it had been applied with a heat process, with a join line centrally positioned around the spine edge of the casing.

As the contents of both were 100% mint and were sourced from different sellers so I do not think these are re-wraps.

On a side not the film/cellophane was quite thin.

Here is a pic of the join:
