These are called magazine CD's. During the 1990's their was many of these released alongside magazines, and had a host of graphics, and other interactive media.

Hi guys, I was looking through the "Turbo Gear" mini catalog and a game title caught my eye.

Under the "Family" Section there is a game titled "Discis Reading Series" (CD).

Does anyone know the background behind this game.  Was the name changed to something we are familiar with or was it in fact an "announced" game that never made it?

Thanks

I posted a list of the announced TG Discis titles back on page two along with a bunch of other games that were never added:  http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=10321.msg186626#msg186626

It would be nice if the creators of popular threads like this and Wonderboy would incorporate others' feedback.

Hmm, I guess I missed it.  Wow Peter Rabbit would have been cool.  I'm about to introduce my son to Magical Dinosaur Tour.

Bonk IV RPG was in the EMG 1993 Video Game Buyer's Guide

The others are in the EGM 1994 Video Game Preview Guide

I think the above pic was just a mock up, but I recall there being possibly some actual ingame footage floating around.

I haven't read the entire thread, but did anybody mention Strider?  Or was that a load of crap from the beginning?

I don't remember it ever being announced for a US release.
