Figured i'd post this here instead of in general discussion. Managed to snag a copy of Legend of Heroes: Dragon Slayer (english version) on ebay for 20 bucks. Messed around with it for awhile to test the game (had a decent amount of scratches on the disc) and it seemed to work just fine. Both intros, voiced scenes, and music worked perfectly. Tried it again today, and of course after you get past the first section, the music/ voices start cutting out intermittently, or it just takes awhile to load the next scene.
Ruled out being the PC engine DUO itself since I got it from here ( Thanks again Samurai Ghost
), and all my other Card/CD/Super CD games work/sound just fine over extended periods of time. Long story short, whats the best way to go about trying to fix or resurface a scratched Super CD? I've tried the gamestop disc skip fixer solution, and that helped a little but still has problems, and the toothpaste method didnt help afterwards. I'm thinking about taking it to a video or game store that might have a professional grade disc resurfacer, but not sure if Super CD games would work the same way as normal discs.
Really dont want to have a problem disc, especially since it already seems hard to find at a decent price, especially the NA version.
