Hi.
Then it happend.. The time has come to once again purchase myself a Duo-R/RX.
Last year i traded my Duo-R for a Supergun (Arcadeheaven), 2 sticks, Sonic Wings 3 and a MVS 2slot. Not a bad trade though, but i really can't seem to forget the lovely white machine. The games i had at the time were Galaga 88, Salamander, Gates Of Thunder to name a few. This time im planning on getting some of the old school RPG's like Wizardry, Might And Magic III (if possible) and Ys Book.
Last time i bought a machine were from Hit-Japan on Ebay. He is a well known seller, but with a pricetag of $150+, it could be better :) Not to forget the shipping to Denmark...Pheew this hobby ruins you hehe.
Well this was my first thoughts (and post) in this forum. I will probably come by more often when i find my upcoming machine. Thx.

I steer clear of Hit-Japan. Grading is very inconsistent, but YMMV.

If you are buying on ebay, make sure to check out Dream Stars Japan. I bought a Duo-R from them, and i was absolutely blown away by the service. He packages his items so well, i swear he must have obsessive compulsive disorder. Everything is perfect. Also his items are always better than described, and he has had everything i asked for when i email him looking for something.

I only intended on buying the Duo-R + a few games from him. After receiving it in such meticulous shape, i ended up buying almost a thousand dollars worth of stuff from him since. I ONLY buy PCE stuff on ebay from Dream Stars Japan. http://stores.ebay.com/DREAM-STARS-JAPAN

Welcome to the PCEFX boards, juggernaut. That trade you made for the supergun was a pretty good deal actually! But now you're dream seems to be coming true, owning both a supergun (with Neo Geo) and a PCE Duo at once! :D

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Turbo Grafx/ PC Engine collecting is a good game collecting hobby. The games have good value, and they're never gonna go down much, so it's money in the bank.

I feel like I'm kinda stuck right now, because it seems like I have most of the games I want that are affordable.

I recommend this seller as well. In the past 3 years, I think I spend over $500 buying games from him. Although some of his prices are well above the norm especially his consoles, but if don't want any hassles I'd pay the extra cash.

Before i bought my former Duo-R, i asked Hit-Japan if the polystyrene was included. He assured me that it was and i could just relax and wait... But when i got it, the box was stuffed tight with japanese newspapers around the console. I mailed him right away and he apologized by sending me a copy of Salamander as a compensation. I had a taste of a "seller-who-just-want-to-make-cash-instead-of-customers" thing in my mouth. Since then i have been aware about his auctions and until now, i was sure my money would be send his way since he is fair with the prices.
Dream Stars on the other hand has never caught my attention due to the slightly higher prices. But if you can recommend him/them, it might not be so bad. To be honest, i would still prefer to get a product i can be happy about instead of saving a few dollars and get a midrange product.

Gaijin is right Hit Japan 's grading is a bit inconsistent but I've really had no problems from him and even my pc engine came from him.. (and I think he sold my one  underpriced)!

Dream stars is very impressive and I gotta love that pink paper thats used with all the emotes and sticky labels XD but again D.S. is quite expensive.

But you know.. if in doubt just asked the seller.

I bought my Arcade Card DUO from Hit-Japan. Didn't have any problems. I bought my DUO from shirubania which came welll packed with the original packing white thingers holding the DUO inplace in the box.

I'm always rather cautious though about buying things from overseas. It's expensive and you could really get screwwed on a bad item because of shipping costs.

I'll jump in and recommend DreamStars again.  I bought my CDRom2 Unit from them straight up, not as an auction.  They were awesome with communication, quickness and all.  Very pleasant to deal with I might add. - And who can forget they use PINK BUBBLEWRAP!!! Now beat that!
What a horrible night to have a curse...

Dream Stars it will be!! :) Just not at the moment. They doesn't seem to have  the Duo-R(X) im looking for.
Another thing is money. As it is now, my daughter has to be baptized in a week. So i know what to do with the cash. Therefore im seriously considering selling my Supergun with sticks and all.... My mind is split in half. The little red devil on my left shoulder tells me to sell the shite in a instant, while the cute lille angel is telling me that i will regret it in the future...Crap :)

How often do you play JAMMA games and how many do you have? And you might be able to find a cheaper method of playing JAMMA game, like building your own simple test rig. I built my own, didn't cost that much. I still have some things to do to make it nicer. The most expensive part is the NTSC encoder if you aren't lucky enough to have SCART RGB input on something.

Well... I don't play that often. And when i do, its only MVS. Magical Drop 2, KOF series etc. Mostly when im having a brew with the gents. This gun is the same as i have. And mine are with 2 modified Namco PS1 sticks :)

And to tell you the truth, i never thought it would get that high in price. Its crazy.
