Any sites that allow you to view games by Genre?
« on: October 20, 2014, 01:54:06 AM »
I've been checking out all the sites that I could find and it seems I can't find any that allow you to sort by genre. What I'm really looking for is a complete list of fighting games available on the PCE. I am a huge fan of fighting games and I think that is one of my goals for the PCE... to get all of the fighting games available (minus Strip Fighter II... not interested).

You could do that at PCECP, but it's still down.  :(

If no one else posts a link, then when I've got a spare five minutes I'll compile a list of all of the fighting games.
BTW although the Neo Geo fighting game ports are graphically much better than their Super Famicom and Mega Drive counterparts, the PC engine ports suffer from long loading times which in my opinion spoils the experience.
Saying that the PCE ports are so much better than SFC and MD ones.

I'll start a new thread to post the complete list of beat 'em ups for the PC Engine/TG-16.
Only reason for starting a new thread is then the thread title will be relevant searchable for if anyone in the future also wants to find a complete list of beat 'em ups.

The load times aren't long, especially by SNES standards, if you have a properly working CD-ROM. Even on my imperfect CD systems, the loads for Fatal Furies and WH2 are surprisingly fast.

I watched some videos of the Neo-Geo ports and the load time seemed much better than the Neo CD version. Even the first Fatal Fury on the SNES had horrible load time. Anyway, yeah I'd be interested in finding a list... no rush. I can wait for PCECP to come back up (assuming that it will eventually). It's going to be quite a while before I get around to getting all the fighting games anyway and I know about enough already that will take me some time to find.

Yeah, www.pcecp.com was the only site that I know of that has a good search page for filtering down by many attributes, genre included I believe. Wonder why it's down, didn't know that.
