Problem with my GT
« on: May 28, 2006, 12:27:42 PM »
Hi all i have only just recently started playing and collecting PC engine , i have just brought a GT and i cannot seem to get it working properly when i power it up the sound comes on fine but the screen just stays black . Do these systems take time to warm up or something or is it just broken , i have tried new batteries etc... Any help at all would be appreciated . Thanks

Make sure you don't mix batteries if you are using batteries and you are using the correct AC adapter if you use an AC adapter (the official adapters are the best to use, of course). I have had bad results using mixed batteries before but when I use new batteries, AC adapter, or my battery pack, it works fine.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

No problem, but if I were you I would avoid using that ac adapter and wait until you have an official one, just to be completely safe. TE/GT's are very fragile units :) .

Yes will do , i did read about them being fragile so i was worried it could have been damaged in the post . I had it working for a while with batteries in yesterday , it took a few minutes to get warmed up though ! But at least i know now it isnt totally useless  :D
