New England Meet Up
« on: July 29, 2014, 08:42:25 AM »
Interest check on a day of retro gaming fun. The idea would be to get a hall (I have cheap access to one) set up a bunch of gaming rigs (retro of course) and maybe even set up a few of my arcades for play. I am in CT. and that's where it would be held and I would love to make it an annual meet. This would be a great way to meet other forum members, play some games and maybe even swap/sell to forum members only. I think a small fee would be charged to cover hall and food items. As I said before I have access to a hall in wallingford Connecticut. This would not be just for New England residents, but to all forum members who would like to take the trip from outside the area. To make it worth it I think starting on a Friday night and going into Sunday afternoon. With all that please post here if you would show and what systems/games you would like to see/play and if there is enough interest I will set up a date that would be good for all.

P.S. I fully expect Nullity to show wearing a thong and pasties!

I'm just over the NH border and I'd do my very best to get together with fellow Obey'ers

Really depends on timing and funds, but I would most likely be down.

I hear that, I am hoping to keep the prices down by having enough people. I am trying for a 10-15 dollar a person entrance. I know gas is another issue and the dreaded tolls. If there is enough people to cover everything I would be willing to do some cash prizes for tournaments that could be held as I am not trying to make a profit from any of this, just something to do and meet new people.

Awesome sauce! a few more and it just might take off :-) I know it's tough here in NE. not many obeyers or just no interest. If any of you are on other boards and know people that might be interested let them know and if there is interest you can be the ambassador to that board as I am really only on this one anymore.

I have to plug "Wallingfird" into Le Map to see how long my drive would be. I'm in NJ.

I'd love to go, just depends on the date...summers are better for me.

STATUS: will be back shortly...

Ok, I'm 2.5 hours away. I can go.

Very cool, I just want to make sure there is an interest and there seems to be a few so far, I would hold it in the summer time, probably the end of summer but not near any holidays. Hell October wouldn't be bad either, it would be a little cooler out. Let me know what ya guys think about a time frame.
