Indeed, it's pretty bad. I have the Handbook too and while nice to have, it's generally disappointing. I much prefer the retro collecting write-ups Edge did in 2003-2004 (which were later collated in a nice dedicated one-off magazine they called Retro: the PC Engine article in there is much more thorough and interesting).

Anyways, I stopped subscribing to the magazine last year after buying every issue since 2009. I grew increasingly frustrated at its general "fluff" treatment of Japanese consoles: they were always treading the same ground and rehashing common knowledge. (Doesn't help that I couldn't care less about the computers they had in the UK nor the homebrew scene, which gets an absurd five pages or something in the mag.)
