From the list of different types of converters that allows the Turbo Duo to play Japanese hucards, which one is the best. pcenginefx.com has a guide to the systems above the button to this forum. Go to the way bottom and see the converters. Can you guys help me? Thank you.

I had a purple barney(WH-301), and my friend had a kisado. I like the Kisado better, but the WH301 is cheaper. Also if you use the 301 with a duo you will have to cut it to get it to fit.

How about the Mirai converters. Or whatever it's called. They show it on PCengine fx systems guide. I found a brand new Turbo DUo for $500 and I can't afford a $100 converter right now. I'll have to save up for later.

TZD also has convertors, though I'm not sure of the quality.

if you want to go cheap, keep your eye on that 301- don't pay more than $20 or $30. The only problem i had with the 301 is that on occasion I had to remove the hucard and the converter and reconnect several times to get it too work. It may have just been my purple barney, baut my friend's kisado worked the 1st time every time.

no Idea on the mirai- the kisado- i think that's what tzd is selling, are $100, you may just want to look at a region mod. From what I understand D-Lite does an awesome job on it.

DOn't want to mod my Turbo Duo. Too expensive of a system for me. I just bot one sealed.

The WH-301 is a really nice converter, I like it alot better than the Kisado, especially if you live in the desert as the Kisado attracts dust like you wouldn't believe.

Totally annoying!

I decided to not get the WH-301 because I have a Turbo Duo and don't want to take off the beautiful hucard door for it to work.

I have that purple converter and it works first time every time.
It has never failed and I've had it for over 10 years.
When I got my Arcade Card Pro, however, it did not work at all.
The two were not compatible. This was easily fixed with an exacto knife by
cutting a single trace on the adaptor's board. I don't know if that same trace
is connected on all the units or if it was just mine.

That's interresting. Could you post a pic of the trace that you had to make as I would like to see what all had to be done to get it to work.

Did anyone on here win the auction for the converter listed above? I'd love to hear about how well it works. I was going to bid on it, but it got too rich for me considering how few japanese games I want to get.

Of course I can! Fortunately the thing can be taken apart by hand without tools and it won't get messed up as a result. Here is the underside of the board:

The two pins that the arrows are pointing to seemed connected. I have no idea why they would be.
I cut them and the Arcade Card Pro worked perfectly, and so far every other PC Engine
game that I've tried still works as well. Before you go slicin', make sure it doesn't work for you first!
