Found a guy in Toronto selling 'the first' Turbo Express in Canada, it was imported by his Father before it hit Canada, and managed to keep it in the Box with manuals, 8 very good games, all for $150! Games happen to be worth over $200 easily.
Of course it doesn't work, and Caps are likely the culprit. I've done about 4 TE's and had success with 3 and a half, one of which I couldn't get the sound to go.. I think it was a bad OP Amp.
Anyways, I replaced two of the 4 Sound Caps, the Backlight Caps and the Video Cap. I still get no Sound, the backlight has returned with good contrast adjustment, but no Video either. I replaced the Video Cap with a 4.7uf 50V instead of 35V, is that too much overvoltage?
The other question I have, is if other Caps are bad on the board, is there something that the Caps control which could cause the Game not to be read properly? I'm hoping a full Cap overhaul will solve the issue, but not sure if the other Caps play a big role in the game being read properly.. thanks!
