Putting the X back in XMAS (Crappy TG-16 gifts for you all)
« on: December 24, 2013, 11:55:04 PM »
NOTE: I think most of this stuff is 3-4 years old.

Over the years, I have accumulated a bunch of random stuff that I almost finished (Jim Power, Gomola Speed), didn't want to share (too embarrassed, like the remix below) or forgot to post (RASTER Magazine) or ________ (stuff I may add).

Since it is XMAS, I figured I might as well post a few things. Who knows? Some of you may dig something here and change your desktop (ha!)  :D

GOMOLA SPEED Wallpaper

I guess I wasn't finished writing this page, plus I wasn't completely happy with the final product?  I can't remember.  It doesn't seem too bad now, but I remember not being happy with something.

ANYWAY, I love the character designs! I think I have some other images from the manual...but I never included them in this page? I tried to find them....to no avail. Sadly, the iPhone image is lo-res these days...

Jim Power in 3-D Wallpaper!
BLAST FROM THE PAST: It was in the COMPARE SNES vs. MD vs. PCE thread (awack!) that I was inspired to make this...

I just needed to write a bit more. Also, you can tell this is old because the iPhone resolution is half of the current standard (ha!).

I had a bunch of stuff I wrote to finish the page...but I think I lost it years ago. I was basically skewering the (then) brand-new push for 3D TELEVISIONS. Of course, this is now passe. Oh well. DATED, NON-FUNNY MATERIAL DESERVED TO BE LOST.

RASTER Magazine (was this a fanzine? does anyone have info on it?)
http://archives.tg-16.com/magazine_database.htm?col=pub&val=ras

"In-depth reviews for Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, & Lynx" courtesy the Watkins family: R.E. Watkins (Publisher), C.K. Watkins (Editor), Steve Watkins (Review Director).

Read the three TG-16 reviews...sadly, I didn't scan the whole magazine (I wish I did!), because I'd post the whole thing for you to read. I have this...somewhere...in a box...somewhere...

Ugghhh... I don't have skills, the mix is very low, I wanted to continue playing around (too repetitive) but... this is very amateurish.

I was purposefully trying to depart from the catchy, ass-kicking elements of this awesome tune, I wanted to be ANTI-asskicking:

I dig the BL remix.  I'd say mission accomplished on doing a 180 from BL's tunes.
U.S. Collection: 97% complete    155/159 titles

my wife teaches spin (stationary bike) classes at the gym.
She loves this fast paced stuff for her classes.  Must be 160 BPM to qualify.

Comrades, you are too gracious.

I did change the wallpaper on my laptop, though. Ha!

NECRO-bump because I was drinking some rum and felt the urge to pull a nullity.

SELF PROMOTION....

Also, Gomola Speed has been getting some attention recently and some folks might want the desktop wallpaper.

Really, the truth is that I was trying to find the old fanzine "RASTER" and I couldn't remember if I ever shared it on the pcefx forums...well, sadly, I can't find the print issue. I really wanted to re-read it, especially because I never scanned the entire issue and only have a handful of scans. Oh well.
