Pot replacement original Duo
« on: May 10, 2015, 05:19:12 PM »
I am trying to revive a Duo that does not spin or play CD's I replaced the caps and swapped the complete cd unit into a duo-r and it worked perfectly. When I was hunting around on the board I noticed that the pot on Vr102 was super loose and would spin all the way around with just a touch of the finger. Does any one know if I can replace the pots with the plastic type from the DUO-R and if so do you by chance know the part number from Digi-key or mouser so I could order some I have never really messed with pots and most component parts shops are not the most user friendly
Thanks for any assistance

Bad pots is unlikely

yeah the issue is not with the spinning per say its more about how loose it is someone used the wrong type of screw driver or bent it

I think VR102 is next to the 10K-18K range, you have to measure pitch between legs to search which one could fit (I suppose many could). I don't know how many turns are capable of the OEM trimmers, but if you wish set it precisely, it's a parameter you have to take in count.
