The Ys commerical guy/stuudio has to be the same as the Record of Lodoss OVA one, watching it felt like I was watching the beginning of one of the episodes

Yeah.
Of course, the commercial was using a wooden roller coaster as a reference point...so I feel like they were in on the joke.
