I do. As a kid, when my dad was still in the army and we lived on base, my mother and a bunch of other military wives used to get together and play mahjong a lot. You've never heard a racket quite like four Korean women playing mahjong. When I got a little older and understood the rules, I used to play it with some of the other kids on base.

I don't care much for computer mahjong though. Playing against computer AI is just dull, and besides most of the computer games seem to be the battle mahjong style where it's just you versus a single AI opponent. If you're going to play that you might as well pick up a strip mahjong game. :) I played a couple of the Super Real Mahjong games before, they're okay.

I've always wanted to learn how to play too but not sure when I will ever actually try to learn how enough.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I sorta know how to play Mahjong but not everything about the game makes sense to me...seems there are a lot of rules to learn, and the fact that a lot of the games use the Japanese naming for all the different moves makes it hard.

You know what irritates the shit out of me though? When people pawn off Shanghai games as "Mahjong"...ARG HOW IRRITATING!     I don't give a damn if it uses traditional Mahjong tiles, it's NOT freakin Mahjong!

This short tutorial should get you started with the Japanese Mahjong rules.

Yes same here, though I love to play those Shanghai games since they are nice and simple :) .
