Micro media PAL PC Engine

I recently acquired this

I don't know if anyone is interested but I thought there may be some PC Engine related historical interest. The photos explain it all really (grubby).
I think it has been left unused in someones loft/garage/garden shed for quite some time. The power supply is enormous and has caused a bulge in the box lid and the pins protrude through the polystyrene.
Its not a proper conversion as it requires the TV Booster to connect it to a TV. I have tried to tune it in but have had no luck as I don't know whether the TV booster requires a separate power supply or gets power from the ext bus (I used to have a grey TV Booster which didn't have a power socket).
The ground panel has been replaced with just a wire connecting the 2 grounds and two traces have been cut (analogue ground and the other I think is related to the RF unit) and there are wires connecting resistors to pins on the ext bus.

not sure about that booster since it only has one port coming out of it but if you are using the standalone system with an RF connection then you need to have your TV set on channel 95 or 96. Instead of 3 or 4

Wow ! Great find !

I'm really surprised by the fact that they've covered the NEC logo. Thanks for sharing this :)

I had no idea this existed.  Nice piece of history there.

Awesome.

I am glad that you were able to dig this PCE out of the ground without disturbing the dirt.

Awesome.

I disassembled and cleaned the controller today with washing up liquid. Its actually in really good condition (just a little yellowing around the edge where the 2 halves meet), it was just really dirty.
I'm not sure what to do with the console now though, I have checked the fuse and get continuity but it won't work as it is without the booster, and I don't know whether that works at all.

Wow what a flashback, I remember these. For a bit they were sold in Virgin Megastore London.
