does dead of the brain 1& 2 have a good storyline

as I bought it and I am going to learn JPN and I want to know is it worth learning JPN first so I get the story better
from Fatal Fury LEGEND OF THE HUNGRY WOLF anime :

Joe Higashi : Then this is where we part

Andy Bogard : and go our seperate ways

there is only one problem. the most of the text is only written and not spoken, and you can't stop the scroll so always the screen is getting refreshed quickly after 3 lines are finished. and they talking a lot. just played about an hour and abandoned then. wasn't that amusing.
