WTB: Willing to pay $50-300 per game!
« on: November 14, 2006, 04:26:40 PM »
I am careless and stupid enough to miss an auction on a factory sealed copy of Ys 1 and 2 on Ebay. I sent the buyer a message saying that I will double his price and buy the game from him/her but she/he never replied. Is that person someone on this board? I really want to buy that game factory sealed.

Anyways, I am looking for the following games in factory sealed condition. The seal and box (hopefully) is as minty as possible.

I know some of these games are uber rare and am willing to pay $300 for just one game. Please come out if you have one of these in factory sealed condition.

Ths list of games are:
Bomberman '93
Bonk 3 CD: Bonk's Big Adventure
Cadash
Chase H.Q.
Gate of Thunder
Godzilla
Kalx
Lords of the Rising Sun
Might and Magic 3
Neutopia II
Samurai Ghost
Sidearms
Sinistron
Splash Lake
Tricky Kick
Turrican
Vasteel
World Court Tennis
Y'S Book 1 & 2

Wow, that's a lotta money you're willing to spend. Is there a certain reason why you want them factory sealed? Keep in mind that it's not good to keep old games with the seal still on them because the lack of air will ruin the boxes. Of course if you removed the seal after buying them then there isn't anything to worry about :) .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I guess all I can recommend is keep looking on eBay and hope for some offers on forums :) .

Hey. I'm not selling anything at this time, but I just wanted to say, "Watch out for folks who reseal games themselves." I've seen many folks do this... although sometimes a retail store might have done it (back in the day) and the current seller is genuinely unaware of the circumstances.

Good luck. :)

"Good luck" is definately the phrase I'd use here...you're looking for some exceptionally rare titles here in terms of sealed...unsealed, you can find these all pretty commonly, but sealed...you're going to be hunting for awhile.

Yes, and in the meanwhile I suggest you get a life. Once you've done this you won't care about paying $300 for a shrinkwrapped box that for all you know is empty. The problem solves itself!

I've seen sealed copies of Lords of the rising sun and Turrican on ebay recently.  Lords might still be on there.  I think I stumbled across a shop with World Court Tennis still sealed, I'll let you know.

I've seen Lords of the Sun on Ebay but the auction just ended with buy it now. I didn't see Turrican though.

I don't know where else to hunt besides Ebay so I decided to post here.

Not many sealed copies of Turbo grafx/duo games are shopping up on Ebay.

There are sellers who reseal games on Ebay though so I thought it's better to ask around first.

As a matter of fact, I don't know if these games still exist in factory sealed condition. What do you think? I mean there are alot of rare NES and SNES games still sealed because they are popular among collectors but the turbo doesn't seem to be a collector's console.

Thanks for all your help.

If you want my opinion, I recommend avoiding seals. Not only do they highly raise the price, but also like I posted earlier, they damage the boxes.

I'm not really sure what could have given you that idea. People pay $300 for f*cking *Bonk 3*, which isn't even very good.

I'm sure there are other, more expensive, things in shrink wrap though if that's what you are going for.
