New Offer from TZD
« on: December 20, 2006, 07:32:24 AM »
Haven't posted on here in a while they got a new offer they emailed around as follows:

Hello Michael Palmisano,
Get what YOU want this year, don't wait for Santa to fill your Christmas stocking.

OK, so you can't get a Wii, can't find a 3. No worry, dust off that old Turbo and remember the good old days. You were young and games were fun. Here's an offer that won't break your piggy bank or your TV screen!

We'll throw in a free Turbo pad or Duo pad with any order over $30.00. Now who else is giving anything away the week before Christmas? The sale ends midnight on New Year's Eve, you only have to be sober enough to type. All the usual fine print applies. You must enter the code Christmaska so we can tell who's been naughty or nice. We'll adjust the total ($19.99 value)here at TZD H.Q.

Also, keep a sharp eye on our web site, the long-awaited re-vamp is coming. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of your friends at www.tzd.com

Not bad since Duo Pads are getting hard to find even though these are the freak of nature ones.

Second If you go and read the message on their website it says this:

Rare, out-of-print games offered. Last chance ever! This is the first in a series to be offered. Of course these are brand new, factory sealed games. Make your best offer, minimum is $50.00 each. The first group: Alien Crush, Aero Blasters, Blazing Lazers, Bomberman and Beyond Shadowgate. Email your best offer, some of these games will sell for much more so take your best shot!

I'm excited about the revamp of the website but it seems like they are trying hard to clear stock which makes me sad but what can you do.

Anyway
Merry Christmas NECers

Damn.  I'm still not on TZD's email list.
Thanks for reposting this.
Do you think this offer can used in conjunction with the "Free promo" turbochip offer?
Not that it matters too much because Power Golf is just about the only item they have that I don't own....I guess I could buy the replacement antenna mast in case mine ever breaks...

I got this email as well and was meaning to post it a few days ago, but forgot. Not a bad deal.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

It seems lately with all these promos and such, TZD has really gotten a second wind.

It makes me wonder where they keep "finding" all these NIB items that were supposedly gone a long long time ago.

Next they'll be telling us they now have factory-fresh copies of Magical Chase and Dynastic Hero for sale, or free with the purchase of a NIB Duo. (we wish)

I wouldn't say a "second wind" so much as a "last wind".  I believe their supplies of these rare, mint items (not their regular stock) and Duo units really are nearing the point of exhaustion.  In addition, sealed TE units and new copies of TZD stocked games have also become a regular sight on eBay these days; a phenomena I had never seen before 2006.
Considering they're taking offers on Beyond Shadowgate, I think we can probably expect one of the "holy grails" to pop up during this series of offers.
Also remember that some lucky bastard is going to get a (loose) copy of Magical Chase when that Free Promo offer reaches the M's.

I agree w/ vest i think this is a last wind. So anything on their main page thats 19.99 or 29.99 that you've been eyeing get it now.  This is the 2nd free item promotion they have ran in a short time.  They have also been changing the main message on their site pretty regularly.  I knew they had a few copies of Beyond Shadowgate they mentioned that to me before.  But this is kind of the first time they've put it out there for anyone to try to nab it.  I'd say they are just trying to make a last wind at dumping stock so they can focus on the other music site that they run.

I also agree with vest, I think TZD is coming to an unfortunate end.

It's called something like American Pie.  Don't quote me on that, my memory's rusty.
It used to appear on my statement when I paid for TZD orders on my check card.  These days that's changed so it says TZD-something.
IIRC, Steve mentions this sister-business briefly somewhere in this interview:
https://www.pcenginefx.com/main/tzd__the_interview.html
With the dwindling Turbo stock, I'd guess he does most of his business on the music CD side of things.  I have a funny picture in my mind of him working with a couple other dudes in a modest office/warehouse with a little phone in a dusty corner clearly labeled "TZD" and using Power Golf boxes as scratch paper.

Oh yeah, I remember that site. I thought that site was made by BT Garner though?

Its a shame, but it could only last so long. When I looking for a copy of Lords of Thunder, I was just about to spend $35-40 for one on ebay. I stumbled across TZD at the last minute, and was amazed to find a site selling brand new items for such great (ie: not inflated) prices.

Yeah, the last thing I bought from TZD was Lords of Thunder.

They still have some games that I don't, but unfortunately most of their remaining selection is limited to the dogs of the Turbo library. (No surprise there.)

I always wanted Somer Assault, and recently I was going to buy it from them, but they must have run out of copies sometime during the past year. Pity.

COOL! I just scored one of those new "rare" games.  I got "Blazing Lazers".    Of course I have a copy already, but mine is getting a little long in the tooth. I didn't expect him to accept my offer, much less so quickly. I sent the e-mail earlier today and just got a reply back. I should have gone for "Beyond Shadowgate", which I don't have. But if you take a look at my copy of "Blazing Lazers" you'll understand:

I think someone was curious about whether the two new offers could be combined. Unfortunately, apparently not.

AARON: Steve says hi. He also says get back to work.
