Sorry about not posting a results thread yesterday -- things got crazy.  Unless he takes forever, we'll wait for Steve, since it looks like he's going to try and make an effort to show.

Main game: 11,839,630
Score attack: 608,580

In case anyone who hasn't beaten the game is wondering how on earth people are breaking scores of 11 or 12 million, it's because the final boss is worth 10 million points.

Ahh, shite so that's why! As you can see on my screen, I died at the last boss! I should've practiced more because then I would've made a little better competition :D .

Also, what was everyone's tips with getting a big score in Score Attack? I assume it was nailing all of those sliver orb things to rank up a lot of points?

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Black_Tiger, we should make a Ghost Manor Tournament.

We'd be the only two to make it past first few areas(if I deleted my walkthrough first).  :P

Do you mean the pulsating orbs that blow up everything on screen and give you a temporary shield? They just do that. Blowing up everything on screen and giving you a temporary shield. The real points are hidden beneath some round beige tiles. The more of those special tiles you find, the higher the bonus points stack up.

About the snake heads, you can get higher points by shooting at the snakes/worms before destroying the heads. Each head spits out up to three of them.

Also, when you get to the boss, you need to shoot it down in one go -- that is, before it spreads its mechanical wings. You'll need a powerful weapon for that, two blue orbs and a yellow one (or two yellow orbs and a blue one) are the combo of choice. When the boss goes down in flames, keep shooting at it, you'll get extra points.

Those hidden round beige tiles were the things I meant.

Thanks for the tips about the other stuff in the score attack mode!

So what's the deal with the purple/pink balls in score attack mode? Do they extend your time or what?  :?

I think they just give extra points, but I could be wrong.

What happened to Steve? He never posted a score. Does this mean we get disqualified?  #-o

I'm totally MIA as far as Spriggan and free time for the past few weeks. You folks can tally up the final scores to finalize this contest. Maybe, one day, I'll be able to play Spriggan and we can add my score to see *what could have been* (back to the future).

I will return to these boards once things settle down.
