If you (or anyone else) happens to come across that baseball RPG for CD, please let me know what it's like as I'm dying to hear about that game!

I recall seeing that game on the store shelves.  Just dug up some info.

Title is "Eikan wa Kimini: Koukou Yakyuu Zengoku Taikai" -> "Crown goes to you: All-Japan High School Baseball Tournament"

I dug up the info from this page:
http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~tetuya/FXHP/pcengine/slg/eikan.html

Apparently, you play as the manager of a Japanese high school baseball club, and you manage the team by coaching and consulting them.  Your goal is to win the summer national tournament (koushien).  You don't actually play as the players during the game, you can only tell 'em what to do and hope for the best.  It actually has 4017 Japanese high schools to choose from, and the data is compiled from the real '93 tournament.

I guess it may appeal to the seriously hardcore baseball junkies.  And obviously, you gotta be fluent in Japanese if you wanna play this game.

Sounds more like a Sim game than a Sports game to me.  :?

But if it had come out in English I would've mastered it back in the day.  :P

Hmm I don't think this was the game I was thinking of as I remember the cover looking differently. I believe it was made by Pack-in-Video, so we'll have to be cautious when we approach it :) . Thanks for filling me in on this game though, I don't think I have ever seen/heard of it and it looks/sounds pretty interesting actually.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I've not even got any of the baseball games for the PCE, in spite of the large amount available! Which would people say are the best ones? I'll probably pick up a couple because I do like baseball games.
Check out any of the Power League games, doesn't really matter which one since they are all pretty similar and a lot of fun. The Pro Yakyuu is also a really nice baseball game (it's for CD) and is also pretty similar to the Power League games. If you (or anyone else) happens to come across that baseball RPG for CD, please let me know what it's like as I'm dying to hear about that game!

Ok, cheers! I'll definitely pick one or two of them up at some point!

Now you piqued my interest in this title, so I did some more searching and I think I came up with what you were looking for - Nekketsu Legend Baseballer by Pack-in-Video.  There isn't too much info on it out there even on the Japanese pages.

Actually really looks interesting - just the concept of a sports RPG sounds pretty cool.

I wonder if this title is rare - no copies are available up on yahoo auction Japan. Hm...

Thanks a lot for the links! Even though there isn't much detail, those screenshots look sweet! I love that title screen with Pegasus on it  .
