The part number of mine is 273-1775. It's also 12V at 1.5A. Wonder why there's two different part numbers for the same product?

Well, after reading this:

oh boy.... I don't like to be the messanger bearing bad news... but your model number is to a discontinued product! ... cuz t hey're discontinuing a lot of their older products... cuz they're designing new ones that use newer technology so they can be less bulky and cost less to produce.

... I would venture a guess that the adapter you have is the "new, improved" version of the same thing. It makes perfect sense, really, after hearing what RockinKat has discovered.

A quick visit to RadioShack's website all but verifies my theory:

-1779, the adapter I've been promoting for years, is listed as "Quantities limited, not available online."

-1775, the adapter you picked up, is listed as "NEW! Image coming soon" with a laundry list of special "features" including Energy Star compliance, etc.

Sounds like they are down to the last of the old (-1779) adapters, selling off simply what remains at the store level.

So I guess -1775 is the wave of the future as far as replacement TG-CD power supplies go.

That said, if the adapter is not working for you nod, your TG-CD interface unit is toast.

well, I picked up the -1779 ps unit that was shipped store to store... And everything works.... So happy.  I bought my Turbografx/turbo CD with a carrying case, multi-tap and one controller for $50 NWCGE 2k6... Guy who sold it said he couldn't find a power supply and didn't know if it worked.... So I'm very happy right now...

..All I need to do now is figure out what card I need to get to play all CD games... As I only have the Version 2.0 CD system Card... and I have a game here which it won't work with... says I need a Super-CD ROM^2 System.

To play ALL CDROM games, you'd need an Arcade Card Pro. Of course, if you have a US deck, consider having a region mod done. If you don't need the arcade card, then you need the Super System Card 3.0, which might cost you a lot...

Nodtveidt speaks true.  An Arcade Card Pro and region mod will be cheaper than a US Super System Card, even if you pay someone to do the region mod.  The Arcade Card Pro won't quite let you play every CD game, but close enough for government work.  You'd still need System Card v1.0 to play Altered Beast and the Games Express games come with dedicated System Cards (some require the additional memory in a Duo, so you're screwed with those).

Hey gents (and ladies, if we have any on board),
I went ahead and posted a new thread about my TG-CD AC adapter current test. You can find it in the TG16 Mod/repair/DIY forum. Thanks!
