I Got My PC FX!
« on: August 24, 2004, 04:35:06 AM »
It came in the mail yesterday (and I had the day off!  :D ), and it came with Battle Heat, Team Innocent, and a couple others.  I have to say, it's a very cool system with a very cool feel.

Now if only I could pick up some Japanese so I could figure out how to play these damn games...
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

Congratulations!

The PC-FX is a truely great system for the people who love it. Just try to play those games or search the net for walkthroughts or hints. Also try japanese pages with the help of an online translation service.

Shouldn't be a Problem

Team Innocent is fairly linear and Battle Heat shouldn't require much Japanese.  I bet you'll do fine.  Team Innocent kind of drives me nuts with its awkward controls and stiff combat, but Battle Heat is a blast.

Classmates 2 and Neo Generation 2, I believe.  I'm at work now, so I can't look at them.  But I think that's what they are.

I guess on Battle Heat, it looks really cool and I love the concept and style, but I don't really get how to play it or what buttons to use.  I'll have to examine the instruction manual and look around online for some tutorials.  I can't wait until Aaron's PC FX pages are done!  Hopefully that'll help out.

Of all the games for the PC FX, it sounds like Chip Chan Kick and Zeroigar are the most accessible for English-speaking players, but I'm having trouble finding copies of those for reasonable prices.  Are there any others you'd recommend?

I don't own Classmates 2 but Neo Generation 2. Okay these two games aren't  playable without no knowledge of Japanese. As for Battle Heat try this page it contains most moves. That's the page with most infos I've found so far for this game. Also you may try the following hint:

Play as the Dark Side:During the Opening Cinema, press IV, VI, II, II, V, V, VI, V, Run.

As for a rough walkthrough for Team Innocent you can consult the following page http://home.comcast.net/~neofan-1/pcfx.html.

Yes Chip Chap Kick and Zeroigar are very playable without any knowledge of Japanese. Normally all the games which are good and playable without any knowledge of Japanese, are more expensive than the others.

Other games which are also easily playable without Japanese are:

Zenki FX (very expensive), Tokimeki Card Paradise (very expensive), Farland Story FX (affordable), Dragon Knight 4 (affordable) and Rururi Ra Rura (expensive).

Zenki FX is a Jump'n Run which merely consists of boss battles but features stunning graphics as well as sounds.

Tokimeki Card Paradise is a strip-card game.

Farland Story FX is a hexbased strategy game. Most of the time very easy but fun.

Dragon Knight 4 is a mixture of a simple RPG and a dating sim with a more or more simple hexbased strategy game. When you ignore the tons of japanese text (there's a fast skip button), you can probably enjoy the strategy part as I do right now.

Rururi Ra Rura is a mixture of a Jump'n Run with a portion of strategy. The graphics are cheesy and sound is only average. But I liked the game very much. I've play it till the end and enjoyed it.

There are probably more games that's just a selection which came to my mind right now...

I just got Last Imperial Prince and I like it a lot.  It's a side-scrolling action RPG with lots of fighting.  The graphics and animation are pretty good too.

Plus it was really cheap (I paid $7) and an English walkthrough was easy to find.
