Shitty pal conversion, can you fix it?
« on: March 04, 2008, 04:54:12 AM »
Back in (uh the eighties/nineties) some pc engines came into the u.k and because of the pal/ntsc issue had to be modified, but they were not done properly. Apprently this is quite common for pc engines in the u.k. It's a damn pain and I hope all you American people realize how lucky you are! :)

Anyway, I have one white pc engine which plays games fine, unfortunately the graphics look like commodore64 graphics. I am not kidding. I think its been a shitty pal conversion, it's rf output. I know where I can get it fixed, its gonna cost 40 pounds..just wondering if anyone here can fix this problem?

Thanks..

Tap the RGB and use that wither either a encoder or a monitor itself that accepts RGB. Where you are at finding a RGB monitor shouldn't be too much a issue.

Tap the rgb? I'm confused. The original output has been changed and its now an rf output (aerial).

So long as you can access the expansion port, RGB should still be accessible.

I'm just going to send it away and get it converted, I want to give it to my bro or sis! :)
