People are generally wary of hardware upgrades, which the Arcade Card technically is. You'd really have to focus on other titles in an attempt to boost the popularity of the system before it would have been even remotely practical to address the ACD and ACD games.

Turbo/PCE fans embraced the CD-ROM and later the Super CD format.

-remember, you're small fry, so you can't: afford games from the big guys (like Hudson, Konami, Capcom, or Namco).

PCE fans did. In the US I don't know how well those upgrades went over. I had them, sure, but my video game tastes aren't, and I'm not sure ever were, mainstream.

Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari?

We got a bunch of their other games.... they weren't so big (they went out of business three years after the PCE release).  The PCE one was a remake anyhow, so I don't count the NES version.  If I were porting it, I could adjust the annoying volume of the sound effects, and the shoddy recording quality of the music.

Perhaps something like 21 Emon or Victory Life (or Dragon Half if it wasn't to pricey to obtain the rights), we never had those kind of board games translated.

Naxat Soft's Double Dragon II. I thought this was a great port/remake. Also, this is a rare PCE CD title and costs over $100 in most cases.

I still think NEC completely goofed by not releasing SF II:CE in the US with the 6 button pad. What made it worse is how much buzz it got in US game mags before coming out in Japan. The Neo Geo ports would have been nice, especially at the time when the Fatal Fury animes came to the US. There is a Fatal Fury Special for the Sega CD advertisement on one of the VHS tapes. I think it was for Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture out of the 3 released.
