these backgrounds look really nice!  I like the floating island one.

Are the watery animations and flames just palette shifts, or what? :)

they look great either way

Those are pretty interesting; I particularly like the first 'game over' explosion (very Beyond Shadowgate-esque).  Some constructive criticism: the scrolling asteroids and spaceships should be smaller and less detailed when further away.

I'll try to follow your advice ..
Thanks.

Ps: you're the first person who tell me, that prefer this picture, instead the first waterfall  :) !!

Maybe I'm a pyro....  O:)

It'd look even cooler if you could subtly animate the smoke/fire a bit.

Not a bad slideshow.

A little constructive criticism:

In the asteroid screen, the asteroids appear behind the bright "flares" of the nebula and the planet (which is quite unrealistic) but also in front of the planet, making it more unrealistic.  Asteroids moving at that speed could never go "behind" a nebula, considering its size.  And, if you want to make them go behind the flared planet, you need to make the dark part of the planet a solid, dark colour.

And so by the way, why not note which of your pictures are taken from games (Phantasy Star III in the above asteroid pic), and which are your original art?

yes i saw it
this is because, dark colors near of black are present (dark stars), and sprites don't move behind nebula correctly ..

I 'am not saying that i made those pictures   [-(
I 'am planning to credit their authors in final game (a special credits part).
i have only retooled all of them.

This backgrounds are not a final version, i'll probably retooling it to take notice of your advices, thanks !!

i 'am not a pixel art graphist -> D system  (like your sound routine for tongueman's logic  :-" )

Ps: chris , je voulais juste dire que je n'avais jamais dit que les images étaient de moi, et que je comptais bien sur crediter leurs auteurs dans
dans le jeu final(que je ne vais bien sur pas commercialiser) ..
