Some soldering advice
« on: September 14, 2009, 01:24:58 PM »
If removing those little silver surface mount capacitors that are all over the Duo is giving you trouble, try using two soldering irons. (A 15W Rat Shack iron will do, it's less than $10) Add a little solder to each side, and heat both sides at the same time while pushing the part to the side- they slide right off the board in seconds.

And for removing the pin/hole caps, I like to heat up both pins with one big fat glob of solder, and wiggle it out with tweezers as I hold my iron to the solder.

Hopefully this will be useful to someone.
