Which RGB amp
« on: July 10, 2010, 09:41:02 PM »

Looking around on the web there seems to be 2 popular ways to add an RGB amp to a PC Engine.

The first is the one posted on Gamesx

http://www.gamesx.com/grafx/pce_rgb.jpg

and the second on Mmonkey

http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/pce/amp.htm

Does the Mmonkey one without the caps etc work as well as the Gamesx one?  comments please.

I've not built either, but IMO the GamesSX one looks like a proper amp circuit. I like the MMMonkey site,  but that amp looks too crude, having no voltage clamping.

It may well work fine, but I wouldn't want to blow my PC Engine Graphics chip just to save a few cents!
