: Xrgb2 plus, recommended 32" tv plus other questions
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:27:13 AM »
Please can anyone recommended decent and reasonable valyue 32" tv which is best compatible with xrgb2 plus with minimal lag, no sync issues and no distorted images ( apparently, samsung tvs and bravia 2 sony ones are not so great for retro consoles with distorted top half visuals)

i have a rgb modded pc engine duo ( with cool blue led )

schp 1050 on my ps2/ps1and d terminal with ps2 (in fact can anyone tell whcih cable is better for ps2?)

official super famicom rgb 21 pin jp on american snes

I will have this on my retro game room (relegated by my wife who has a phobia of gagdets from my lounge) thus hence why i want the best tv which you retro guys and girls

D Terminal = Component cable with fancy connector.
For PS2 RGB for games.  Component for DVD.
Note though, some PS2 games support Progressive Scan, the XRGB2+ does not.  Meaning with such
games, you should have your ps2 hooked up directly to the TV via Component.

Best TV is still a CRT.  XRGBs look nice on LCD/Plasmas, but an XRGB combined with a CRT is
way better.  I use a 2+ on a 22'' CRT computer monitor via BNC5 and it looks unbelievable!
Ironically this 10 year old CRT can display in true QXGA, I'd love to one of todays "HD" LCDs go
that high! ha!  Now we just need an XRGB-4 that can actually output that high. :)

I can confirm there does seem to be an issue with certain Samsung Models and RGB.

I currently own a Samsung LE32R74BDX/XEU and when I connect my RGB modded PCE to it I have the issue with distorted top half visuals :-(

'Best TV is still a CRT.  XRGBs look nice on LCD/Plasmas,' due to size on my apartment, more likely my dedicated retro game room, CRT is not possible.

thanks super play for confirmation on avoiding samsung tv for rgb pc engineand other consoles
