That's actually quite handy. Once I feel I have levelled enough, I like to head straight for where I need to go, without loas of frustrating wrong turns wasting my herbs.

I suppose, though by the time I've ground my way up a sufficient number of levels I could find my way blindfolded.

I prefer to grind near an exit rather than wandering around too much in case I need a quick escape.

I say, "Hell Yes" it is worth it. The story is really a treat, you actually care about the characters. This rarely happens in movies, IMO, and yet here we have a video game that is able to achieve it.

It's a fun ride.

I know the grinding is tedious, but, to be honest, I felt that way about most JRPG's back in the day. Now I'm even less forgiving of the genre.

So, yes, finish the goddamn game. Even if the battles are a chore for you, consider it a "rite of passage". That will make the entire endeavor feel more worthwhile :). Believe me, that is what I do when playing Athena and Super Pitfall on NES.

I loved the game.  So, I am going to of course say its worth it.  The story is awesome, IMO.  Too bad its the only one on the Turbo that got a translation.  :(

Well, here's the deal. In Japan there were quite a few of these simplistic JRPGs with lots of cut-scenes, spoken dialogue, etc with great use of the sort character designs that were popular in anime back then. The Telnet games, the Rayforce games, Babel, Tengai, and a bunch more. Cosmic Fantasy 2 (there are 5 of them in Japan) is pretty much the only game like this that came out in English. Sure its a POS, but it has a nice story and cinemas and if you skip this one English game of its type you are therefore skipping the entire genre, and its one of the best genres on PCE.

This is assuming of course you don't play raw Japanese games. If you do, then yeah, just skip it and play something much better like Startling Odyssey 2. Wait, now that I think about it SO was fan translated last year so...play that instead!

there are tits.

Censored in the US version, get your save there in the English one...... AND THEN LOAD THE JAPANESE DISC. REJOICE AT THE BOOBIES.

Sorry, but you're wrong about this.  The shower scene is exactly the same in the Japanese version of Cosmic Fantasy 2.  It was "altered" for the Cosmic Fantasy Visual Collection.

Check here for shower scene screen comparisons:

And here's a lot of info on how the US and JPN versions of CF2 compare:

Oh, neat.

I never actually tried it myself, and was repeating what someone else had told me.  I was way too lazy to confirm it, so thanks:)

Technically CF2 is a longer game, though, the Super Dungeon in Mysterious Song...I've never played it, not sure how long it'd take to get thru the beast.
