How can Tiger's Road be a poor conversion when it's actually way better than the arcade? As a matter of fact, it's almost a whole different game. Gameplay is tough yet gratifying, graphics are neat, PSG tunes have a flavour all their one. A great "conversion" from Victor, IMO.

I imagine the purists had a fit with this one...just like they had a fit with the PCE port of Cadash.

Silent Debuggers: I actually never played this game when I got it (when it came out). But, a few years ago I finally broke it open and played it.  I was actually surprised with how much fun I had with it, since the reviews for it weren't that good back-in-the-day, let alone today.  Lights off -- this game needs to be played alone in the dark.

Silent Debuggers is one of my all time favourite games period.  They do a great job establishing the mood and make you feel... well, creepy right from the get-go.  The story is pretty cool, though the Engrish could be a little better.  Crank the volume on your stereo system and play it in a dark room.  Had a lot of fun with this one.

As for finding it hard?  It's actually one of the few games I've ever beat - EVER beat.  I found it pretty easy, and I love the rush of "holy shit, I have to hurry up and get in the core before stuff blows up".

Tiger Road is garbage, however.

Hahaha, I love that feeling. You wouldn't expect a video game, especially one about 15 years old, to scare the shit out of you so much.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
