RAU-30 adapter
« on: October 05, 2010, 12:59:43 PM »
I recently picked up a RAU-30 cable/adapter and I'm not quite sure if it's working properly.  Unfortunately I don't have a Supergrafx system yet.  I'm using the RAU-30 in between my briefcase CDrom system and a white PCE console to test it.

What I get is only stereo audio and no video out of the briefcase interface output.  Is there supposed to be video from the interface out?

Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing not-- my SuperGrafx+briefcase (w/RAU-30) doesn't output video from the briefcase. I get my stereo out from the briefcase and pull the video out from the video out port directly on the SGX. If it's not supposed to work this way....... well, then we BOTH have defective RAU-30s (or briefcase decks, for that matter).

Thanks for your insight.  Well hopefully that's how is supposed to work then.  Seems a bit odd that the audio and the video come from different ports.

Did realize just how cumbersome and awkward the RAU-30 adapter is to use until now.

Wow. Why on Earth would they design it that way?

There's no video from the IFU-30 /briefcase, because there isn't any video connections to it from the RAU.30 interface .They're not not connected at all internally .There's only 50 points which are connected from the super grafx's exp port going to the RAU.30's connection port,so that's 19 missing and out of those 69 ,the video out put from the super grafx are included .

Just look at how thick the cable is ,think how bigger it would be with all 69 connections.
