Another disappointing eBay Sunday
« on: April 17, 2011, 10:11:44 PM »
A bunch of games on my want-list, all of which went above my maximum bid.
Shubibinman 1, Parasol Stars, Rainbow islands, Spriggan 2, Star Parodier all went for more than I'd reasonably expect.

It's almost not worth bothering on Sundays, I can pick up bargains all through the week, but not Sunday.

And on a complete tangent, does anyone have any screenshots of Rally Championship? I can't find any info about it at all, I think it's a game I've played and liked before, but I have no way of confirming.

Sunday is a good day to bid on low-profile games.  Some auctions slip through the cracks while everyone is watching the big stuff on their day off.  Scrounging for PCE loosies or those common-uncommon NES carts you've had on the bottom of your list can yield reasonable results.  Yesterday I won a FZ-10 and a bunch of games for much less than similar auctions.

Rainbow islands and Spriggan 2 in particular are both hard to ever find for reasonable prices on ebay.  Low-closing auctions for games like these seriously only happen about once a year.  Props on sticking to your bid limit, you'll get them if you're patient.

yeah, i'm with vest on this one, stick to your guns, you'll eventually get it for your price, just gotta be patient.
hell, i waited about 6 months for lords of thunder, trying to get one in the $25-30 range, eventually got it for $17 shipped!
funny thing is, the exact same thing happened with gate of thunder, but that's because the seller thought he was missing the back insert.

anyway, point is, way to not be stupid!
if every TG buyer out there was sane like yourself, things would be much cheaper for all of us.

Yeah, thanks guys :D

Thought I was onto a winner yesterday - someone was selling Mr Heli, but the item pictured was an unboxed Parasol Stars Huey.  I emailed him saying "is the item pictured definitely the item you're selling?" and he said yes.  So I'm counting down the hours... and with about 30 minutes left I check his feedback, and see... an unboxed Parasol Stars Hu. So he's actually used the wrong photo.  Thought I was gonna get Parasol Stars for a fiver there.

I stuck to my guns with Daimakaimura and got it for £30 ($50) which is lower than eBay average rather than a bargain - but I just picked up an unboxed one as well for £10, which is really good, along with Devil Crash and Ninja Gaiden unboxed for the same.
