Excellent, thanks for that.  Do you have a link?  I just bought an IFU the other day, and I'm waiting for it to arrive

Sure thing: http://www.maplin.co.uk/ac-dc-multi-voltage-2500ma-switched-mode-power-supply-49063

It's actually 2.5A max and on sale at the moment so not too expensive. Same price in store.

:(  I think it's expensive!  Jeeze, £15 and it's on sale!

Heheh, thanks for the link though, and for persevering.  It will certainly help me out immensely with mine.

glad you got it sorted out! Kind of strange needed a higher rated psu, I've never had trouble with the radio shack ones, but I am also in the US.

Wierd...  I found a PSU in my drawer at work (god knows what it was for), but I took it home thinking it would fit my Megadrive (which it does).

Well, when my briefcase setup arrived yesterday, I started plugging stuff in, seeing what fitted, and then I realised that it was 12v and 1.6A.  Worked perfectly, and I saved myself 15 quid there!
