Great video, as always, and it's awesome to see some advertisement go Aetherbytes way - they certainly deserve it!!
In the video Joe asks the question what delineates between "Indie" and "Homebrew" - and I think that is as slippery of a slope as "Retro" - personally I hate these terms like a lot of you hate "Shmup" - I think they're misleading and contribute to a generalization of a complicated issue.
I think it's ironic that people think the small and mid level studios are gone, but somehow "Indies" have often staff of over 40 people including PR, HR, and marketing people
When people refer to Tim Schafer's studio as "indie" I think you see my point, or the behemoth for that matter.
To be considered a "homebrew" I would assume it's made in someones home, using tools they own with no real company structure behind them.
Again, a bunch of semantics and diction that has no barring on anything other that perception of these developers, which I think it ultimately overpowered and silly.
