I thought homebrew was any home coded software...  I didn't say port because it's the PC version so you can't (I assume) use any of the original code.  So remake =/= homebrew?

No, he means that MSR has nothing to do with Neutopia III.  They're entirely different games.

Someone could have just answered "Oh it's a homebrew version of Neutopia III" and I'd have been like "oh cool"

Its not a homebrew version of Neutopia 3 though... lol

Looking at soop's posts, it doesn't appear that he's ever been in the Homebrew section before. And looking back through this thread, it's a lot of off-topic banter and doesn't specifically mention "Mysterious Song" very much. (At least at the beginning and end of the thread) However, MSR has been one of the most discussed homebrew project in the past 6 months or so, so it's a little surprising that anyone's just now hearing about it.

The first time I came in here was Monday I think?  I looked at a couple of posts and posted "Bubble Bobble".

Whaaat?  I'm suprised it didn't say on the first page.  And even if it doesn't stand for something, I don't know what it is.

You could use search, follow the link to frozenutopia on the first page, or have paid attention to what was going on in the community while you were hammering out 500+ posts... but that's just crazy talk.

Here, let me spoon feed it to you:  MSR is short for Mysterious Song, a Turbob remake being done by Frozen Utopia (Rover) of the PC RPG of the same name.

Wait, are you having a go at me for a) not using a search for a three letter acroynm for a 2 word name which only shows up halfway down the search results ANYWAY, and b) Not reading a particular section of the Internet?

It's not actually that crazy a question.  Lesson here:  Because you know one thing that someone else doesn't, doesn't make you smart, and it doesn't make them stupid.

Turbob, Obey = TurboGrafx-16/TurboDuo/PC Engine/SuperGrafx/etc related.

Hopefully there will be enough copies after the pre-orders go out for you to snag one.

Oh of course, we'll be sitting on tons of extra copies. No problem there, just ask BT Garner or Arkhan lol.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

There is no Pier Solar-style collector-baiting marketing scheme planned. :P

Turbob, Obey = TurboGrafx-16/TurboDuo/PC Engine/SuperGrafx/etc related.

Heh. Thanks for pointing this out. I actually asked in chat once and no one responded. I assume because they were laughing so hard at how retarded I am. :D

EDIT: I said it in chat, I said it in PMs, but I'll say it again here. Congrats Rove! Making any homebrew is impressive, but taking on a full RPG just blows me away. I'm very excited for this game and I really want to express how impressed I am to see this finished. :)

There's a lot more pcefx-specific slang being tossed around (like Raisin Bar) that wouldn't make any sense outside of a thread dedicated to the basis of the slang. Even then, threads rarely stay on topic.
