I'd also like to know the name of the replicator, considering that just a few years ago no one on the planet was willing/able to do the appropriate format.  Why the secrecy?

And yes, I know where some of my CD's were pressed.

I am beginning to believe that the "unpressable" bit was actually a ruse to deter others from making new games. It will most certainly not be the first time someone from the "old guard" used deception to discourage newcomers from stealing their thunder.

Pressing was never impossible in the first place.

We made Insanity at 4am on a clunker dinosaur machine with a SCSI CD burner that took like 4903 hours to burn.  If the f*ckin CD-R boots in a real turbo grafx CD, a replicated one will do the same.  It's a replica.  There is no "format".

A replication machine literally clones the disc.  So if you, the programmer/cd burner can do it right, they can do it right.

anyone who says otherwise, you're dumb.

Mishran: It's actually low for their replication.  I used Nationwide disc to press Insanity.  It's proof they deliver teh shitz.

Insanity cost a little over 1000$ to replicate.

I've used www.discmakers.com a couple of times in the past and have been surprised at how well they communicated the status of your project and how quickly it was completed.  The end product looked great as well.  I've used them for replicating DVDs in the past.  I've had the [sarcasm]pleasure[/sarcasm] of working with a number of other replicators that left much to be desired; these guys I liked.

I've since bought a Microboards CX-1 , so most of my replication is done in-house now.  It's a burned disc, though, which wouldn't be ideal for the Turbo Community.

are you sure you don't mean duplicating?

That's the one where they just use a mass-copy machine and make a buncha CD-R/DVD-R's for you

Semantics.  Who needs 'em. :P  Discmakers provides a real DVD.  The CX-1 I use these days just makes burned CD/DVDs.

It's not really semantics though lol, they are two entirely different processes.

One is fast and cheap, the other is expensive and takes awhile (but gives nicer product!)

Update: the deed is done. The game is as translated as it's gonna get. Not everything in the fixes could be added due to lack of space, and a couple of things were already correct anyway. Final build taking place in a few minutes once I'm sure no more names need to be added to the credits.

Final build has been released to the team. As long as all is in order, this will be going out on the 17th.
